We
love how diverse and different Thailand is from our home country.
The
many different ethnic people groups help to make Northern Thailand so
interesting.
I
remember our first time driving through the mountains in Northern Thailand and
seeing people dressed in Tribal clothing, working in the fields. It was like we
were living a real life postcard experience!
Thailand
is so diverse with numerous Hill Tribe people groups; from Lahu to Lisu, from
the Akha with their colourful hats to the Hmong people who originate from Laos,
China and Mongolia.
Oftentimes
the Hmong wear their tribal outfits during everyday activities like working in
a market, when in the fields or when selling their vegetables.
Each
Hill Tribe group has a unique way of dressing.

Their
clothing is usually hand decorated using methods handed down from mother to
daughter.
Many
of the children in our care are Hmong.
Some
outfits are only worn on special occasions like for a wedding or during their
New Year celebration.

We
are so thankful to be here and we continue to soak in all the colourful sites and sounds of Thailand.
